FREE activities for parents, caregivers and children (age 0-6) through Play to Learn Drop-In, educational workshops and parenting programs. Our resource library contains parenting books and videos for borrowing and our newsletter is published regularly. FEN also provides information and referral to other agencies in our community.

History
The Deep River and Area Family Enrichment Network (
FEN) began as a group of volunteer parents running a monthly drop-in in the basement of a local church. In
1989, a grant from the
Ministry of Community and Social Services enabled us to start a
family resource program at Mackenzie High School with daily drop-in, weekly playgroup and parenting workshops. Parenting resources were developed as well as a monthly
newsletter, community linkages and referrals.
In
1993 FEN Point Alexander opened and in
1998 FEN Chalk River began its drop-in program as well. With the
Early Years initiative in Ontario in
2000, FEN became a satellite of the
Ontario Early Years System for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke.
